Biogas Steel Anaerobic Digester for Pig Farm Wastewater Treatment

Anaerobic digestion
(AD) is a well-established process for renewable energy production in which biomass is broken down and converted to biogas (a mixture of methane, carbon dioxide and traces of other gases) by micro-organisms. The environment inside a biodigester is complex, depending on the composition of the feedstock and operating conditions, and some of the by-products are corrosive to certain structural materials. It is essential to minimise maintenance because each time the AD process is interrupted, it takes 3-4 weeks for production to start up again.

AD is turning into an ever-popular recycling choice as an approach to get energy, compost and nutrient value out of discarded organics and helps control methane emissions which are a highly potent greenhouse gas. Biogas can be used as a fuel in gas pipelines, combusted to produce electricity or compressed into a vehicle fuel. The residual solids and liquid are good nutrient-rich crop fertilizers. 

Where does biogas come from? ---The main raw anaerobic digestion materials for biogas plant
 
As global energy and environmental issues become more prominent, biogas projects have achieved rapid development in the past 10 years, because it's kind of environmental treatment technology that can deal with industrial and agricultural wastes, in the meantime recover renewable biogas energy. Below we listed several main raw materials for biogas plant's anaerobic digestion.
  • Livestock and poultry manure: cow dung, pig manure, chicken manure, etc.
  • Industrial wastewater: sugar refinery processing wastewater, potato processing wastewater, starch plant processing wastewater, papermaking wastewater, brewing wastewater, palm oil mill wastewater, etc.
  • Food & vegetables waste: market waste, kitchen food waste from restaurants, households food waste separated from municipal solid waste
  • Wastewater treatment plant surplus sludge and primary sludge.
  • Energy plants: corn silage, cornstalk, silage forage, clover, sunflower, and Sudan grass, etc.

For industrial wastewater such as sugar processing wastewater, potato processing wastewater, starch processing wastewater, papermaking wastewater, beer wastewater , palm oil wastewater and other raw materials, mainly Up-flow Anaerobic Sludge Bed/Blanket (UASB), Up-flow Solid Anaerobic Reactor (USR) and Internal Circulation Anaerobic Reactor (IC) are used for biogas production.

The sludge-based biogas project mostly uses a Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR ), so are the livestock & poultry manure, food & vegetables waste and energy plants based biogas plants. Sometimes, Plug Flow Reactor (PFR) is also applied.


The ECPC tank is assembled by special steel plates, dedicated sealing materials, self-locking bolts, etc. It is widely used in biogas projects, sewage disposal projects, chemical industry, power engineering and other fields of dry type gas storage tanks, anaerobic tanks, aerobic pools, sewage disposal devices, granaries, cement storage tanks, workshops, garages, oil storage tanks, feed tanks, raw materials tank for brewing. 

There are paint film protective layers on the surface of the special steel plate after treatment. It's hardness, adhesion, corrosion and shock resistance can be adjusted according to the clients' requirements. It can maintain the pressure of 5kPa, and can also be combined with the integrated double membrane biogas holder to make fermentation gas production and storage integration device.
