Iron-based Wet Desulfurization Project for Hydrogen Sulfide Removal
Based on the natural feature of Fe-based ionic liquids, non-aqueous wet oxidation desulfurization of hydrogen sulfide was proposed in this work. The Fe-based ionic liquid (Fe-IL) was synthesized directly by mixing 1:2 mole ratio of 1-butyl-3methylimidazolium (BmimCl) and FeCl3·6H2O at ambient temperature . The non-aqueous wet oxidation desulfurization process of hydrogen sulfide removal has several advantages such as no waste water producing and no need of pH value controlling. It could be expected to be used as a green wet oxidation of desulfurization in chemical and environmental engineering.
Wet Desulphurization Process
The main hazards of hydrogen sulfide in gas are as the followings : toxic to human body, corrosive to metal equipment and pollutive to environment. So sulfur must be removed from biogas. This process is to use alkaline liquid to absorb H2S in the gas, so that the gas can be purified. After absorbing H2S, the alkaline solution will be recycled under the catalysis of desulfurizer. Sulfur paste (or sulfur) is prepared by compressing and separating (or melting sulphur). In the cooling tower, the hot water flows through the water seal to the hot water pool. The chilled water chestnut is sent to the cooling tower for cooling and recycling.
The biogas from the gas tank is reversely contacted with the upper and lower cold water through the lower part of the cooling tower. In the process of contact, the gas temperature drops and the impurity in the gas is removed. After entering the roots blower, entering the general pipe of the outlet of the blower, then entering the lower part of the desulphurization tower, entering the spray desulphurization tower through the gas distributor, reverse contact with the desulfurizing liquid which is sprayed on the top of the tower, and then entering the FGD tower and spraying the tower again with the top of the tower. The desulfurization solution is reverse contacted to remove H2S from the gas, and the purified gas comes out from the top of the desulfurization tower and enters the post process.
