The risk of Hydrogen Sulfide

Hydrogen sulfide (also known as H2S, sewer gas, swamp gas, stink damp, and sour damp) is a colorless gas known for its pungent "rotten egg" odor at low concentrations. It is extremely flammable and highly toxic.

Hydrogen sulfide is used or produced in a number of industries, such as

  • Oil and gas refining
  • Mining
  • Tanning
  • Pulp and paper processing
  • Rayon manufacturing

Hydrogen sulfide also occurs naturally in sewers, manure pits, well water, oil and gas wells, and volcanoes. Because it is heavier than air, hydrogen sulfide can collect in low-lying and enclosed spaces, such as manholes, sewers, and underground telephone vaults. Its presence makes work in confined spaces potentially very dangerous.

The health effects of hydrogen sulfide depend on how much H2S a worker breathes and for how long. However, many effects are seen even at low concentrations. Effects range from mild, headaches or eye irritation, to very serious, unconsciousness and death.

How does Mingshuo Product Remove Hydrogen Sulfide?
For the H2S-containing waste gas generated in the industrial process, methods such as absorption, adsorption and catalytic oxidation are mainly used for removal, recycling and harmless treatment. Among them, the desulfurization method can be divided into two types: dry method and wet method.

 

Ferric oxide based deulfurizer is the original product which is a non-hazardous granular material used in the removal of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from natural gas, coke-oven gas, LNG gas, shift gas, food grade CO2, CO2 recovery, refinery gas, biogas etc. through batch-processing treatment.

Ferric Oxide Desulfurizer is a kind of new efficient solid sulfide removal adsorbent, take metal compounds as active component which is mainly used for removing hydrogen sulfur from bio gas, natural gas, carbon dioxide etc. MINGSHUO offer the MT-1 & MT-2/3 which has fast reaction and fine desulfurization, especially for desulfurization of high sulfur gas in carbon dioxide system. Currently the product has been used in many gas fields.
