Mingshuo MRS Series Activated Carbon Desulfurizer
I. Application and performance
The produced MRS series activated carbon desulfurizer is mainly used for a variety of sulfides removal, especially H2S removal from water gas, coke oven gas, natural gas, chemical raw material gas, flue gas etc.
It has a unique high efficiency, high accuracy purification effect, especially for H2S removal. Moreover, there's no environmental pollution, possible to be reused and high purity elemental sulfur can be recovered through regeneration.
II. Physical properties and characteristics
MRS series activated carbon desulfurizer is cylindrical solid particles with a dark black appearance. All of them are made of high-quality raw materials plus a certain amount of binders and co-catalysts through a series of finishing processes such as screening, batching, crushing, molding, drying, carbonization, and activation.
This product is characteristic of high activity, large porosity, high desulfurization efficiency, good mechanical strength, good water resistance, low bed resistance, easy regeneration, and not easy to powder under high temperature, high pressure, thus widely used in gas phase desulfurization for all kinds of industries.

IV. Basic desulfurization principles
1. H2S removal from gas
The H2S and a small amount of O2 in the gas are catalyzed by the surface of activated carbon, and the following reactions occur at normal temperature and pressure: 2 H2S + O2 = 2 H2O + 2 S
The water generated by the reaction is taken away by the gas stream, and the elemental sulfur formed is adsorbed by activated carbon, so as to achieve the purpose of removing H2S.
2. Organic sulfur removal from gas
COS accounts for more than 96% of organic sulfur. At room temperature, COS is hydrolyzed by activated carbon to generate H2S first, and then it can be removed by the principle of H2S removal. The reaction is as follows:
COS + H2O = H2S + CO2 2 H2S + O2 = 2 H2O + 2 S
According to the gas phase desulfurization mechanism of activated carbon, it is proved that the quality of activated carbon is mainly determined by the porosity, the specific surface area and the strength of the surface activity.
V. Application process conditions required
Airspeed: 300 ~ 2000h -1 (under normal circumstances)
Temperature: 20~100 °C
Sulfide and oxygen content ratio: ≥ 1: 2
Relative humidity ≥ 70% (but without liquid water entering the activated carbon bed)
Pressure: ≤ 6Mpa
Linear speed: ≤ 0.1m / s, city gas should be 0.01 ~ 0.05m / s.
